Summit Electrical is a national electrical contractor founded in 2005 by Managing Director Sid Chand. Sid has been in the industry for over 30 years and under previous employment was in charge of a Small Works Division for a major M&E contractor and went on to manage electrical contracts worth over £2M. His desire to continue working with clients he had built relationships with encouraged him to start his own business and has not looked back since. Under his guidance the company has grown to an enviable position carrying out projects across all sectors of the industry.

We started with an aspiration to provide a quality service to its clients. With a management team that has over 200 years of experience in electrical contracting we are able to successfully meet the requirements of our clients in all aspects of the electrical industry from the commencement of a project through to completion. We pride ourselves on our reputation which has been achieved by the quality and reliability that we provide.

We are an approved contractor for many local authorities and University’s including Walsall MBC, Wolverhampton City Council, Worcestershire County Council, Staffordshire County Council, Sandwell MBC, Dudley MBC, Birmingham International Airport, West Midland Police Authority, University of Birmingham, University of Worcester and Coventry University.

Our client base is wide and varied which includes construction companies, schools, colleges, airports, police stations as well as a number of public buildings and retail outlets.

We specialise in Electrical Contracting from the initial design stages through to the completion of the installation. We have very successful and fruitful relationships with a number of main contractors who we continuously work with. Our quality is highlighted by the amount of repeat business we receive from existing clients and the amount of interest obtained from new clients.

HEALTH & SAFETY

The industry we work in brings many hazards and with that we ensure we comply with all industry standards and regulations to enable a safe working environment for all our team and clients.

Our commitment to Health & Safety is second to none where we have achieved recognition for this commitment by being awarded many Health & Safety accreditations. We are externally audited regularly on our Health & Safety and systems that we have in place, this show clients our ability to control this aspect of the business and recognize that this is of paramount importance, not only to Summit Electrical but to all our clients.

Our sites are regularly inspected by our Health & Safety team with an audit schedule produced for each site and project. Regular toolbox talks are carried out by our site team to ensure that all operatives are reminded of their duties towards Health and Safety.

Our site teams are led by Site Supervisors that have the relevant credentials (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme – SSSTS) to control and manage on site Health & Safety matters and encourage others to recognize the importance of such systems. Our Contracts Management team are accredited with Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) which further highlights our commitment to Health & Safety.

ACCREDITATIONS

NICEIC Approved Contractor

We are a member of the NICEIC Approved Contractors scheme for Electrical Contractors undertaking design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installations to the electrical safety standard BS 7671.

Construction Line

We are registered on Constructionline the UK’s largest register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants, this assures clients that we meet a set criteria and reduces the need of further assessment.

Safe Contractor

A leading health and safety pre-qualification assessment scheme dedicated to promoting higher standards of competence and compliance through the provision of relevant industry specific and tailored health and safety assessments for all professions and sectors.

CSCS

All of our employees are required to hold a current CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents.

ECS

The ECS card scheme Identifies that the holder is formally licensed to carry out UK electrotechnical work in the area or occupation identified by the card, or to a particular level, and displays any additional qualifications or affiliations relevant to that individual.

CRB

All of our employees are regularly CRB checked. The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) helps employers in England and Wales make safer recruitment decisions. A number of roles, especially those involving children or vulnerable adults, are entitled to a criminal record check.
