Summit Electrical have been appointed as the contractor to upgrade the complete Electrical Infrastructure of the Edward Elgar Building at the University of Worcester.

 

The University of Worcester (UW) has a vision, to become a high quality University of choice with an international reputation for excellent, inclusive education, as well as a dynamic engine for social and economic redevelopment in the region.

 

The University of Worcester is the only Higher Education institution in the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire, an area that has been recognised as being under provided for in Higher Education terms.

 

The existing installation within the Edward Elgar building consists of equipment, accessories and cabling spanning the whole life of the building which was constructed circa 1946.

 

The project will commence in May 2015 with an overall completion expected for December 2015, however, there will be a flexible approach as the University will be kept fully operational during this project.

 

Summit will be responsible for the installation of a new large LV Panel to replace 2No. existing Panels, Replacement of the main incoming supplies with new from the existing site HV Transformers, Installation of a number of new LV MCCB Panel boards and numerous Sub-Distribution Boards, Installation of new Containment Systems, Additions to the Fire Alarm System, New Lighting & Emergency Lighting, New Small Power  and a complete Rewire of the Boiler Room.



Solihull School Refurbishment

Speller Metcalfe Ltd have appointed Summit Electrical as the electrical contractors for the Refurbishment of the School House building at Solihull School.

 

Solihull School is continuing with reinforcing its standing as one of the Midlands’ leading independent schools in carrying the refurbishment of the existing Grade II Listed building which is partly occupied by the Sixth Form pupils.

 

The refurbishment will begin in May 2015 on the building, which will see the current Sixth Form pupils move into the newly built Sixth Form Centre currently being worked on by Speller Metcalfe and Summit Electrical.  

 

Summit will be responsible for the design, supply and installation of the Mains Distribution, Containment systems,  Small Power Installations, Lighting and  Emergency Lighting Systems, Data Installation, Fire Alarm System, Intruder Alarm System, and Disabled Alarm System.
